A new chapter for international traineeships in Europe has begun.
After almost a decade of supporting international mobility and traineeships across Europe, ErasmusIntern.org has evolved into ErasmusCareers.org, a new platform designed to support students and organisations throughout the entire traineeship journey.
Now live, Erasmus Careers brings job and traineeship opportunities together in a more unified European ecosystem, making it easier for students to discover, apply for and manage opportunities abroad, while helping organisations connect with prospective talent.
The transition marks more than a visual refresh. Erasmus Careers represents a new approach to how international traineeships are discovered, managed and supported, with features designed to improve transparency, quality and trust across the traineeship experience.
Students can create enhanced profiles to showcase their skills, experience and mobility background, while accessing job and traineeship opportunities in one place. New support and follow-up tools are designed to help them stay connected throughout their international experience.
For organisations, upgraded company and opportunity pages make it easier to present opportunities to prospective candidates. Quality labels and ratings, informed by research into traineeship quality, aim to make opportunities more transparent and trustworthy, while new tools support progress monitoring and feedback.
Building a more connected European ecosystem
International traineeships can help students develop professional skills, gain international experience and build connections across borders. Yet the journey can often involve navigating fragmented platforms and processes.
Erasmus Careers aims to bring more of this experience together in one trusted European space, connecting students and organisations while supporting quality throughout the traineeship cycle. Enhanced verification and security processes, together with improved matching tools, also aim to create a more reliable experience for everyone involved.
The platform builds on Erasmus Student Network’s work on international traineeships, including research carried out through the Digitalising Erasmus Traineeship Application & Support (DETAS) project. Drawing on insights from students, employers and higher education staff, this research identified gaps in guidance, access and quality that have helped inform the development of Erasmus Careers.
The transition from ErasmusIntern.org
The transition is already underway. ErasmusIntern.org is now closed to new traineeship postings, and organisations should use ErasmusCareers.org for new job and traineeship opportunities.
Existing ErasmusIntern.org users can access the new platform in two ways: users who have opted in to automatic migration will have their accounts transferred to Erasmus Careers starting mid-September. In contrast, those who prefer immediate access can create an account directly on the new platform.
For students, ErasmusIntern.org is closed to new account creation. Existing opportunities remain available for browsing and applications until the platform closes definitively at the end of 2026. All new activity is now moving to Erasmus Careers.
Students can access Erasmus Careers by visiting members.esn.org, creating an Erasmus Generation account and setting up their basic profile. They can then use the integrated authentication to log in to the platform. This authentication system is part of a wider effort to create a more connected experience across Erasmus Generation partner platforms.
